I lead a high-risk high-reward research portfolio on the organisational foundations of government and of the political economy — which I think of as critical for strategic management in the public interest.

I tackle complex problems at the intersection of organisational design, political economy, international development, and behavioural science to address issues like corruption, global health, and environmental governance in the Global South. I generate independent, credible evidence to inform theory and policy.

My work shows that interventions rooted in evidence-based organisational design can solve difficult governance failures in low-resource settings to transform behaviour at scale.

My research has been recognised through prestigious grants and fellowships and through invitations to share my work in academic and policy circles.

I’m a mixed-method scientist with expertise in causal inference. I use experiments, survey methods, and large-scale data analysis, alongside deep institutional knowledge cultivated through fieldwork.

Through my academic research and policy advising engagements, I’ve worked with national governments. Examples include Morocco’s Ministry of Health and Lebanon’s Office of the Minister of the State of Administrative Reform.

I’ve lived and worked on four continents. I speak Arabic and English (native), French (advanced), Spanish (conversational), and Sierra Leonean Creole [Krio] (basic).

I earned my PhD in Sociology from Stanford University and my BA in Neuroscience and Behaviour from Barnard College.
